1. An apparatus for transmitting wireless power, the apparatus comprising:

  • a detection circuit electrically coupled to a power amplifier driving an antenna circuit comprising one or more flexible antennas configured for wireless power transfer, the detection circuit configured to measure at least one of the following variables;

    an impedance of the power amplifier, an output voltage of the power amplifier, and a current from the power amplifier; and

    a processor configured to;

    determine that at least one of the variables falls outside of a corresponding threshold range, indicative of a deformation of a physical shape of at least one of the one or more flexible antennas or indicative of a misalignment of at least one of the one or more flexible antennas from a power receiver, associated with an operating condition of at least one of the one or more flexible antennas, andcommand the power amplifier to transition to a first power mode from a second power mode based on the determination that at least one of the measured impedance, the measured voltage, and the measured current falls outside of the corresponding threshold range, the antenna circuit in the first power mode transmitting power at a power level less than the power level in the second power mode.
