Abstract

A method of controlling a display of a plurality of objects according to an input related to operation of a mobile terminal is provided. The method includes changing, if an input related to operation of the mobile terminal is received when a layout including a plurality of areas in which a plurality of objects are respectively displayed is displayed, one or more of the plurality of areas corresponding to the input related to the operation of the mobile terminal, and displaying a layout including the changed areas. The input related to the operation of the mobile terminal may be a motion of the mobile terminal, a user'"'"'s breath, or a gesture. If an input related to operation of the mobile terminal is detected while one of the areas constituting the layout is being touched, the remaining areas except for the touched area are rearranged.

Claims

1. A method of controlling a display of a plurality of objects according to a motion of a mobile terminal, the method comprising:

displaying a layout including a plurality of areas in which the plurality of objects are displayed;

identifying a reciprocating motion of the mobile terminal, wherein the reciprocating motion comprises a first movement associated with a first direction and a second movement associated with a second direction opposite to the first direction; and

in response to identifying the reciprocating motion of the mobile terminal, identifying at least one object of the plurality of objects to be moved according to the reciprocating motion, maintaining remaining objects of the plurality of objects in same areas of the plurality of areas in which the remaining objects were displayed before the reciprocating motion; and

moving the at least one object of the plurality of objects to at least one different area of the plurality of areas in which the at least one object of the plurality of objects was not displayed before the reciprocating motion, such that the plurality of objects are arranged in the plurality of areas according to a preset arrangement rule of the layout after the reciprocating motion,

wherein a number of the plurality of objects is unchanged from before to after the reciprocating motion.

2. The method of claim 1, wherein the plurality of objects include shortcut icons for executing applications.

3. The method of claim 2, further comprising:

detecting a direction of the reciprocating motion corresponding to at least one of an up-down direction, a left-right direction, or a diagonal direction of the mobile terminal.

4. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

determining whether one of the plurality of objects is applied to the preset arrangement rule of the layout in response to the reciprocating motion of the mobile terminal.

5. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

determining whether one of the plurality of areas is touched;

determining whether the reciprocating motion of the mobile terminal is received while the touch is maintained; and

rearranging remaining areas except for the touched area in response to the reciprocating motion of the mobile terminal.

6. The method of claim 5, further comprising:

searching for objects associated with an object belonging to the touched area corresponding to a property of the object in response to the reciprocating motion of the mobile terminal;

adding the searched objects to one or more of the plurality of areas where the object is not displayed; and

displaying a layout in which the searched objects are respectively displayed in the one or more of the plurality of areas.

7. The method of claim 6, further comprising:

searching for pictures associated with a person appearing on a portrait in response to the object belonging to the touch area being the portrait; and

respectively displaying the searched pictures in the one or more of the plurality of areas.

8. The method of claim 1, wherein the preset arrangement rule of the layout is in consideration of the properties of the plurality of objects, the properties regarding the horizontal and vertical formats of the plurality of objects.

9. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

determining whether a number of reciprocating motions of the mobile terminal is equal to or greater than a predetermined number in response to the reciprocating motion of the mobile terminal; and

adding a predetermined number of areas to areas constituting a layout of a current page in response to the number of the reciprocating motions being equal to or greater than the predetermined number.

10. The method of claim 9, wherein the added areas include areas constituting a layout of a next page.

11. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

displaying an icon for adjusting a number of the plurality of areas; and

adding/removing one or more areas to/from the plurality of areas in response to the reciprocating motion of the mobile terminal while the icon for adjusting the number of the areas is touched.

12. A mobile terminal for controlling a display of a plurality of objects according to a reciprocating motion of the mobile terminal, the mobile terminal comprising:

a display configured to display a layout including a plurality of areas in which the plurality of objects are displayed;

a sensor device configured to detect the reciprocating motion of the mobile terminal; and

at least one processor configured to;

identify, by using the sensor device, the reciprocating motion of the mobile terminal, wherein the reciprocating motion comprises a first movement associated with a first direction and a second movement associated with a second direction opposite to the first direction,

in response to identifying the reciprocating motion of the mobile terminal, identify at least on object of the plurality of objects to be moved according to the reciprocating motion,

maintain remaining objects of the plurality of objects in same areas of the plurality of areas in which the remaining objects were displayed before the reciprocating motion, and

move the at least one object of the plurality of objects to at least one different area of the plurality of areas in which the at least one object of the plurality of objects was not displayed before the reciprocating motion, such that the plurality of objects are arranged in the plurality of areas according to a preset arrangement rule of the layout after the reciprocating motion,

wherein a number of the plurality of objects is unchanged from before to after the reciprocating motion.

13. The mobile terminal of claim 12, wherein the plurality of objects include shortcut icons for executing applications.

14. The mobile terminal of claim 13, wherein the sensor device comprises a motion sensor for detecting the reciprocating motion of the mobile terminal.

15. The mobile terminal of claim 13, wherein the sensor device is further configured to detect a direction of the reciprocating motion corresponding to at least one of an up-down direction, a left-right direction, or a diagonal direction of the mobile terminal.

16. The mobile terminal of claim 12, wherein the at least one processor is further configured to determine whether one of the plurality of objects is applied to the preset arrangement rule of the layout in response to the received reciprocating motion of the mobile terminal.

17. The mobile terminal of claim 12, wherein the at least one processor is further configured to:

determine whether any one of the plurality of areas is selected, and

switch positions of remaining areas except for the selected area in response to detecting the reciprocating motion of the mobile terminal through the sensor device while the selection is maintained.

18. The mobile terminal of claim 17, wherein, in response to detecting the reciprocating motion of the mobile terminal through the sensor device while the selection is maintained, the at least one processor is further configured to:

search for objects associated with an object belonging to the selected area based on a property of the selected area,

add the searched objects to one or more of the plurality of areas where the object is not displayed, and

control the display to display a layout in which the searched objects are respectively displayed in the one or more of the plurality of areas.

19. The mobile terminal of claim 18, wherein, in response to the selected area being a portrait, the at least one processor is further configured to:

search for pictures associated with a person appearing on the portrait, and

control the display to display the searched pictures in the one or more of the plurality of areas, respectively.

20. The mobile terminal of claim 12, wherein the preset arrangement rule of the layout is in consideration of the properties of the plurality of objects, the properties regarding the horizontal and vertical formats of the plurality of objects.

21. The mobile terminal of claim 12, wherein the at least one processor is further configured to:

determine whether a number of reciprocating motions of the mobile terminal detected through the sensor device is equal to or greater than a predetermined number, and

add a predetermined number of areas to areas constituting a layout of a current page in response to the number of the reciprocating motions being equal to or greater than the predetermined number.

22. The mobile terminal of claim 21, wherein the added areas include areas constituting a layout of a next page.

23. The mobile terminal of claim 12, wherein the at least one processor is further configured to:

display an icon for adjusting a number of the plurality of areas, and

add/remove one or more areas to/from the plurality of areas in response to the reciprocating motion of the mobile terminal being detected while the icon for adjusting the number of the areas is selected.
