1. An electrochemical sensing system comprising:
- a body of dielectric material in which is formed a well to receive a liquid analyte, the well having a chamfered edge about a top side of the well, wherein the chamfer extends from the top side of the well to a sidewall of the well;
an opening to receive the liquid analyte into the well;
a top electrode layer on a top face of the body and on the chamfered edge of the well; and
a bottom electrode on a floor of the well.
