Pridyloxy-phenoxy-propionic acid-amino-alkyl esters having a herbicidal action, their production, compositions containing them, and the use thereof are described. The esters correspond to the formula ##STR1## in which X is halogen or trifluoromethyl,
Y is hydrogen, halogen or trifluoromethyl,
Z is oxygen or sulfur,
"alkylene" is a straight-chain or branched-chain C2 -C6 alkyl group, and
Q is an amino or ammonium group.
