An L-lysine producing organism which is obtained by incorporation into a host strain of the genus Escherichia of a hybrid vector having inserted therein a DNA fragment with genetic information controlling L-lysine production, which fragment is derived from a donor strain of the genus Escherichia which is resistant to an L-lysine analogue.
