1. In a piezoelectric transducer whose active element is formed by a polymer film forming a self-supporting structure provided with electrodes on both its faces, the part of the film between said electrodes contains at least one non-developable zone mechanically relaxed and caused to change from a non-polar to a polar phase by an electric field applied thereto;

  • said electric filed inducing in said polymer film a macromolecular chain transition between reversed and non-reversed neighboring chains.
