1. A lamp lighting circuit for connection between a power supply and an electric lamp, comprising:

  • (a) a pair of input terminals between which the power supply is to be connected;

    (b) a pair of output terminals between which the lamp is to be connected;

    (c) an operator actuated lamp switch having a first side connected to a predetermined point between the input and output terminals;

    (d) a protection switch connected in series with the lamp switch between a second side of said lamp switch and one of said input terminals;

    (e) a circuit breaker connected between the input and output terminals and also connected to the protection switch for permitting the power supply to power the lamp when both the lamp switch and the protection switch are closed; and

    (f) detector means connected to the protection switch for opening the same in response to a prescribed abnormal circuit condition, the circuit breaker responding to the opening of the protection switch by electrically disconnecting the power supply from the lamp.
