1. A computer security system comprising:

  • (a) a computer with a working memory to perform program functions;

    (b) at least one computer controlled mass memory storage device for storing and retrieving data;

    (c) at least one power supply by which electric power is supplied to portions of said computer including said at least one computer controlled mass memory storage device;

    (d) a user operable hardware switch means between at least one of the mass memory storage devices and at least one of the power supplies, in which user actuation of the hardware switch causes electric power from any power supply connected to the hardware switch to be disconnected from any computer controlled mass memory storage devices connected to the hardware switch, without disruption of power to any other portion of said computer.
