1. A system for remotely validating the identity of an individual, comprising:

  • a first device including first number generating means for generating a first sequence of numbers and attachment means for attaching the device securely to the individual such that the first device will cease to generate successive numbers in said first sequence if it is removed from the individual;

    a second device remote from the first device and including second number generating means for generating a second sequence of numbers and means for comparing said first and second sequences of numbers, andmeans for establishing a remote communication between said first and said second devices in order to communicate the current number in the first sequence to said second device and, if the current number in the first sequence matches the current number in the second sequence, determine that the identity of the individual is valid, further comprising means for causing said first device to alert said individual at pseudorandom time intervals that the individual must initiate contact to said second device within a limited time interval when establishing said remote communication.
