1. A computerized apparatus for electronically determining cardiac parameters in a human patient in the presence of a regular heart rate pattern, comprising:

  • computing means for receiving and storing a set of input parameters including a single actual heart rate value, a single actual systolic blood pressure value and a single actual diastolic blood pressure value, and sex, weight, age and height of the patient;

    calculating means associated with the computing means for generating an estimate of actual cardiac stroke volume from;

    (a) said single heart rate value,(b) blood pressure information consisting only of said single systolic and diastolic blood pressure values, and(c) said sex, weight, age, and height of the patient; and

    output means connected to the calculating means for providing an output to an operator representing said estimate of actual cardiac stroke volume.
