1. A process of programming and actuating an access control transmitter comprising the steps of:

  • actuating a portable access transmitter in the vicinity of an antenna connected to a memory having at least two memory addresses and an access code associated with each memory address, wherein the portable access transmitter generates a coded signal, wherein said portable access transmitter is first actuated a multiple number of times to indicate a memory address and then actuated to transfer an access code using the coded signal generated by the portable access transmitter to said memory via a connected radio receiver;

    actuating a switch;

    selecting a memory address from said at least two memory addresses in said memory based upon the actuation of said switch;

    transmitting a radio frequency signal modulated with said selected access code.
