Abstract
A bolus pump apparatus is provided for connecting an IV bag to an infusion set. The bolus pump apparatus includes a pump connector assembly and a syringe pump. The pump connector assembly includes one or more valves adapted to provide selective fluid communication between the IV bag, the syringe pump, and the infusion set. The syringe draws a bolus of fluid from the IV bag through the pump connector assembly while the pump connector assembly prevents fluid within the infusion set from being drawn into the syringe. The syringe pumps a bolus of fluid from the syringe through the pump connector assembly to the infusion set, while the pump connector assembly prevents fluid within the syringe from being pumped into the IV bag.
