1. A method for determining energy experienced by a person during activity over ground, comprising the steps of:

  • determining, at at least two different locations about the person, forces of acceleration experienced by the person due to interaction with the ground and in a direction generally perpendicular to the ground;

    processing, on the person, signals representative of the forces of acceleration over a time interval defined by the activity over ground to determine the energy, the step of processing further comprising ratioing the energy from each of the at least two different locations; and

    reporting the energy to the person, the step of reporting comprising reporting a ratio of the energy from each of the at least two different locations.
