A portable medication delivery device comprising a medication cartridge having an outlet and a movable piston, and a housing for holding the cartridge, and a flexible piston rod being operable to engage and displace the piston along an axis of the cartridge, and a guiding means for bending the piston rod away from the axis, and an actuating means and driving means for transferring movement from the actuating means to the piston rod, the driving means including a driving wheel for displacing the flexible piston rod, the flexible piston rod comprising regularly spaced first members adapted to mechanically cooperate with corresponding second members on the driving wheel, wherein:

  • the flexible piston rod comprises at least two separate tape-shaped bodies that are joined together at one or more points in a traversal cross-section.
