1. An acoustic measurement and imaging system comprising:

  • a projector for generating low frequency ultrasound signals in a frequency range from about 10 kHz to about 1 MHz in a target tissue structure;

    a sensor in communication with the projector for receiving tissue echo signatures generated by the interaction of said target tissue structure with the low frequency ultrasound signals;

    a central processor in communication with the receiver to determine a low frequency ramp response from said tissue echo signatures;

    memory graphics for generating a graphic representation of the target tissue structure from the low frequency ramp response using an acoustic database of stored tissue data.
