1. A method of enabling a first user to record in a computer system, using a business card of a second user, an electronic mail address of the second user, the business card including coded data indicative of the identity of the business card and of at least one reference point of the business card and the method including the steps ofreceiving, in the computer system, indicating data from a sensing device regarding the identity of the business card and at least one of a position and a movement of the sensing device relative to the business card;
- identifying;
in the computer system and from the indicating data, a request to record the electronic mail address of the second user; and
recording, in the computer system at a location accessible to the first user, the electronic mail address of the second user, wherein the sensing device comprises;
(a) an image sensor adapted to capture images of at least some of the coded data when the sensing device is placed in an operative position relative to the business card; and
(b) a processor adapted to;
(i) identify at least some of the coded data from one or more of the captured images;
(ii) determine an orientation, within the captured images, of at least some of the coded data;
(iii) decode at least some of the coded data; and
(iv) generate the indicating data using at least some of the decoded coded data.

Abstract
The present invention provides a method of enabling a first user to record in a computer system, using a business card of a second user, an electronic mail address of the second user, the business card including coded data indicative of the identity of the business card and of at least one reference point of the business card, the method including the steps of: receiving, in the computer system, indicating data from a sensing device regarding the identity of the business card and a position of the sensing device relative to the business card, the sensing device, when placed in an operative position relative to the business card, sensing the indicating data using at least some of the coded data; identifying, in the computer system and from the indicating data a request to record the electronic mail address of the second user; and recording, in the computer system at a location accessible to the first user, the electronic mail address of the second user.

receiving, in the computer system, data from a sensing device operated by the first user regarding the request and regarding at least one of a movement and a position of the sensing device relative to the business card; -
interpreting, in the computer system, at least one of the movement and the position of the sensing device as designating the request; and
recording, in the computer system at a location accessible to the first user, the electronic mail address of the second user, wherein the sensing device comprises;
(a) an image sensor adapted to capture images of at least some of the coded data when the sensing device is placed in an operative position relative to the business card; and
(b) a processor adapted to;
(i) identify at least some of the coded data from one or more of the captured images;
(ii) determine an orientation, within the captured images, of at least some of the coded data;
(iii) decode at least some of the coded data;
(iv) generate the data regarding the request using at least some of the decoded coded data; and
(v) generate the data regarding at least one of the movement and position of the sensing device relative to the business card using at least some of the decoded coded data.

receiving, in the computer system, from a sensing device operated by the first user, indicating data regarding the request; -
interpreting, in the computer system, the indicating data as designating the request; and
recording, in the computer system at a location accessible to the first user, the electronic mail address of the second user, wherein the sensing device comprises;
(a) an image sensor adapted to capture images of at least some of the coded data when the sensing device is placed in an operative position relative to the business card; and
(b) a processor adapted to;
(i) identify at least some of the coded data from one or more of the captured images;
(ii) determine an orientation, within the captured images, of at least some of the coded data;
(iii) decode at least some of the coded data; and
(iv) generate the data regarding the request using at least some of the decoded coded data.

recording, in the computer system at a location accessible to the first user, the electronic mail address of the second user, wherein the sensing device is adapted to contain data regarding the identity of the first user and comprises;
(a) an image sensor adapted to capture images of at least some of the coded data when the sensing device is placed in an operative position relative to the business card; and
(b) a processor adapted to;
(i) identify at least some of the coded data from one or more of the captured images;
(ii) determine an orientation, within the captured images, of at least some of the coded data;
(iii) decode at least some of the coded data; and
(iv) generate the data regarding the request using at least some of the decoded coded data.

a computer system for receiving indicating data from a sensing device for identifying a request to record the electronic mail address of the second user, the indicating data being indicative of the identity of the business card and at least one of a position and a movement of the sensing device relative to the business card, the computer system being configured to record the electronic mail address of the second user at a location accessible to the first user, wherein the sensing device comprises: -
(a) an image sensor adapted to capture images of at least some of the coded data when the sensing device is placed in an operative position relative to the business card; and
(b) a processor adapted to;
(i) identify at least some of the coded data from one or more of the captured images;
(ii) determine an orientation, within the captured images, of at least some of the coded data;
(iii) decode at least some of the coded data; and

(a) an image sensor adapted to capture images of at least some of the coded data when the sensing device is placed in an operative position relative to the business card; and
(b) a processor adapted to;
(i) identify at least some of the coded data from one or more of the captured images;
(ii) determine an orientation, within the captured images, of at least some of the coded data;
(iii) decode at least some of the coded data;
(iv) generate the data regarding the request using at least some of the decoded coded data; and
(v) generate the data regarding at least one of the movement and position of the sensing device relative to the business card using at least some of the decoded coded data.

(b) a processor adapted to;
(i) identify at least some of the coded data from one or more of the captured images;
(ii) determine an orientation, within the captured images, of at least some of the coded data;
(iii) decode at least some of the coded data; and
(iv) generate the indicating data using at least some of the decoded coded data.

a computer system for receiving data from a sensing device regarding an identity of the first user and regarding the request, the computer system being configured to record the electronic mail address of the second user at a location accessible to the first user, wherein the sensing device is adapted to contain the data regarding the identity of the first user and comprises: -
(a) an image sensor adapted to capture images of at least some of the coded data when the sensing device is placed in an operative position relative to the business card; and
(b) a processor adapted to;
(i) identify at least some of the coded data from one or more of the captured images;
(ii) determine an orientation, within the captured images, of at least some of the coded data;
(iii) decode at least some of the coded data; and
