Windmill kite
DCFirst Claim
1. A windmill kite for converting the kinetic energy of high altitude winds into useful work or other forms of energy, the windmill kite comprising:
- at least three substantially axially co-directed, spaced apart mill rotors mounted into an assembly or unit;
a platform frame conformed for supporting said mill rotors being tiltable upwards a predetermined angle with reference to a substantially horizontal plane;
at least one tether line maintaining a substantially fixed geographical location of said platform;
at least one winch at ground level enabling the kite to be reeled in or let out in order to adjust its altitude as needed at least one dynamo mounted to said platform and connected to an output of said mill rotors;
a conductor connecting said at least one dynamo to an electrical supply at ground level;
an electrical system controller to allow electrical energy produced by said dynamo to be distributed into an electrical system; and
a platform positioner mounted to said platform and configured to control the pitch angle on blades of said mill rotors to maintain the attitude of said platform relative to a fixed set of orthogonal axes.

Abstract
A kite having a flying platform including a plurality of mill rotors, at least one tethering line maintaining the platform at a substantially fixed geographical location, at least one dynamo on the platform drive connected to the mill rotors, and a conductor connecting the dynamo to an electrical transmission and supply system at ground level. The windmill kite has at least three substantially axially co-directed, spaced apart mill rotors disposed in an array which is symmetrical in terms of thrust capacity about each of two orthogonal axes extending from the platform and being neutral in terms of torque capacity about a third orthogonal axes extending from the platform.
