Abstract

A height difference under a sealant is reduced in a case where lines are present under the sealant. There is provided a substrate having an active matrix display circuit and peripheral driving circuits, a counter substrate having a counter electrode provided on the substrate in a face-to-face relationship therewith, a sealant provided between the substrate and the counter substrate such that it surrounds the active matrix display circuit and peripheral driving circuits, a liquid crystal material provided inside the sealant, a plurality of external connection lines provided on the substrate under the sealant with a resin inter-layer film interposed therebetween for electrically connecting the active matrix display circuit and peripheral driving circuits to circuits present outside the sealant and an adjustment layer provided in the same layer as the plurality of external connection lines.

Claims

1. A camera comprising:

a main body;

an operation switch;

a battery;

an image receiving portion; and

a display device,

wherein the display device comprises;

a first wiring over a substrate;

an insulating film over said first wiring;

a second wiring over said insulating film;

a sealant over said insulating film and second wiring;

a transparent conductive layer over said second wiring; and

a flexible printed circuit over said transparent conductive layer,

wherein said first wiring is at least partially overlapped with said second wiring,

wherein said first wiring is electrically connected to said second wiring,

wherein said second wiring is electrically connected to said flexible printed circuit through said transparent conductive layer, and

wherein the transparent conductive layer does not overlap the sealant.

2. A camera according to claim 1, wherein said first wiring comprises aluminum.

3. A camera according to claim 1, wherein said transparent conductive layer comprises indium tin oxide.

4. A camera according to claim 1, wherein the second wiring transmits signals between the outside and inside of a sealant.

5. A camera comprising:

a main body;

an operation switch;

a battery;

an image receiving portion; and

a display device,

wherein the display device comprises;

a first wiring over a substrate;

an insulating film over said first wiring;

a second wiring over said insulating film;

a sealant over said insulating film and second wiring;

a transparent conductive layer over said second wiring; and

a flexible printed circuit over said transparent conductive layer,

wherein said first wiring is at least partially parallel with said second wiring,

wherein said first wiring is electrically connected to said second wiring,

wherein said second wiring is electrically connected to said flexible printed circuit through said transparent conductive layer, and

wherein the transparent conductive layer does not overlap the sealant.

6. A camera according to claim 5, wherein said first wiring comprises aluminum.

7. A camera according to claim 5, wherein said transparent conductive layer comprises indium tin oxide.

8. A camera according to claim 5, wherein the second wiring transmits signals between the outside and inside of a sealant.

9. A cellular mobile phone comprising:

a main body;

a speech output portion;

a speech input portion;

an operation switch;

an antenna; and

a display device,

wherein the display device comprises;

a first wiring over a substrate;

an insulating film over said first wiring;

a second wiring over said insulating film;

a sealant over said insulating film and second wiring;

a transparent conductive layer over said second wiring; and

a flexible printed circuit over said transparent conductive layer,

wherein said first wiring is at least partially overlapped with said second wiring,

wherein said first wiring is electrically connected to said second wiring,

wherein said second wiring is electrically connected to said flexible printed circuit through said transparent conductive layer, and

wherein the transparent conductive layer does not overlap the sealant.

10. A cellular mobile phone according to claim 9, wherein said first wiring comprises aluminum.

11. A cellular mobile phone according to claim 9, wherein said transparent conductive layer comprises indium tin oxide.

12. A cellular mobile phone according to claim 9, wherein the second wiring transmits signals between the outside and inside of the sealant.

13. A cellular mobile phone comprising:

a main body;

a speech output portion;

a speech input portion;

an operation switch;

an antenna; and

a display device,

wherein the display device comprises;

a first wiring over a substrate;

an insulating film over said first wiring;

a second wiring over said insulating film;

a sealant over said insulating film and second wiring;

a transparent conductive layer over said second wiring; and

a flexible printed circuit over said transparent conductive layer,

wherein said first wiring is at least partially parallel with said second wiring,

wherein said first wiring is electrically connected to said second wiring,

wherein said second wiring is electrically connected to said flexible printed circuit through said transparent conductive layer, and

wherein the transparent conductive layer does not overlap the sealant.

14. A cellular mobile phone according to claim 13, wherein said first wiring comprises aluminum.

15. A cellular mobile phone according to claim 13, wherein said transparent conductive layer comprises indium tin oxide.

16. A cellular mobile phone according to claim 13, wherein the second wiring transmits signals between the outside and inside of the sealant.

17. A mobile computer comprising:

a main body;

an operation switch; and

a display device,

wherein the display device comprises;

a first wiring over a substrate;

an insulating film over said first wiring;

a second wiring over said insulating film;

a sealant over said insulating film and second wiring;

a transparent conductive layer over said second wiring; and

a flexible printed circuit over said transparent conductive layer,

wherein said first wiring is at least partially overlapped with said second wiring,

wherein said first wiring is electrically connected to said second wiring,

wherein said second wiring is electrically connected to said flexible printed circuit through said transparent conductive layer, and

wherein the transparent conductive layer does not overlap the sealant.

18. A mobile computer according to claim 17, wherein said first wiring comprises aluminum.

19. A mobile computer according to claim 17, wherein said transparent conductive layer comprises indium tin oxide.

20. A mobile computer according to claim 17, wherein the second wiring transmits signals between the outside and inside of the sealant.

21. A mobile computer comprising:

a main body;

an operation switch; and

a display device,

wherein the display device comprises;

a first wiring over a substrate;

an insulating film over said first wiring;

a second wiring over said insulating film;

a sealant over said insulating film and second wiring;

a transparent conductive layer over said second wiring; and

a flexible printed circuit over said transparent conductive layer,

wherein said first wiring is at least partially parallel with said second wiring,

wherein said first wiring is electrically connected to said second wiring,

wherein said second wiring is electrically connected to said flexible printed circuit through said transparent conductive layer, and

wherein the transparent conductive layer does not overlap the sealant.

22. A mobile computer according to claim 21, wherein said first wiring comprises aluminum.

23. A mobile computer according to claim 21, wherein said transparent conductive layer comprises indium tin oxide.

24. A mobile computer according to claim 21, wherein the second wiring transmits signals between the outside and inside of the sealant.

25. A camera comprising:

a main body;

an operation switch;

a battery;

an image receiving portion; and

a display device,

wherein the display device comprises;

a first wiring over a substrate;

a first insulating film over said first wiring;

a second wiring over said first insulating film;

a second insulating film over said first insulating film and second wiring;

a transparent conductive layer over said second wiring and said second insulating film; and

a flexible printed circuit over said transparent conductive layer,

wherein said first wiring is at least partially overlapped with said second wiring,

wherein said first wiring is electrically connected to said second wiring, and

wherein said second wiring is electrically connected to said flexible printed circuit through said transparent conductive layer.

26. A camera according to claim 25, wherein said second insulating film is in contact with said transparent conductive layer.

27. A camera according to claim 25, wherein said second insulating film comprises a material selected from the group consisting of acryl and polyimide.

28. A camera according to claim 25, wherein said first wiring comprises aluminum.

29. A camera according to claim 25, wherein said transparent conductive layer comprises indium tin oxide.

30. A camera comprising:

a main body;

an operation switch;

a battery;

an image receiving portion; and

a display device,

wherein the display device comprises;

a first wiring over a substrate;

a first insulating film over said first wiring;

a second wiring over said first insulating film;

a second insulating film over said first insulating film and second wiring;

a transparent conductive layer over said second wiring and said second insulating film; and

a flexible printed circuit over said transparent conductive layer,

wherein said first wiring is at least partially parallel with said second wiring,

wherein said first wiring is electrically connected to said second wiring, and

wherein said second wiring is electrically connected to said flexible printed circuit through said transparent conductive layer.

31. A camera according to claim 30, wherein said second insulating film is in contact with said transparent conductive layer.

32. A camera according to claim 30, wherein said second insulating film comprises a material selected from the group consisting of acryl and polyimide.

33. A camera according to claim 30, wherein said first wiring comprises aluminum.

34. A camera according to claim 30, wherein said transparent conductive layer comprises indium tin oxide.

35. A camera comprising:

a main body;

an operation switch;

a battery;

an image receiving portion; and

a display device,

wherein the display device comprises;

a first wiring over a substrate;

a first insulating film over said first wiring;

a second wiring over said first insulating film;

a second insulating film over said first insulating film and second wiring;

a sealant over said first insulating film and second wiring and on said second insulating film;

a transparent conductive layer over said second wiring and said second insulating film; and

a flexible printed circuit over said transparent conductive layer,

wherein said first wiring is at least partially overlapped with said second wiring,

wherein said first wiring is electrically connected to said second wiring,

wherein said second wiring is electrically connected to said flexible printed circuit through said transparent conductive layer, and

wherein the transparent conductive layer does not overlap the sealant.

36. A camera according to claim 35, wherein said second insulating film is in contact with said transparent conductive layer.

37. A camera according to claim 35, wherein said second insulating film comprises a material selected from the group consisting of acryl and polyimide.

38. A camera according to claim 35, wherein said first wiring comprises aluminum.

39. A camera according to claim 35, wherein said transparent conductive layer comprises indium tin oxide.

40. A camera according to claim 35, wherein the second wiring transmits signals between the outside and inside of a sealant.

41. A camera comprising:

a main body;

an operation switch;

a battery;

an image receiving portion; and

a display device,

wherein the display device comprises;

a first wiring over a substrate;

a first insulating film over said first wiring;

a second wiring over said first insulating film;

a second insulating film over said first insulating film and second wiring;

a sealant over said first insulating film and second wiring and on said second insulating film;

a transparent conductive layer over said second wiring and said second insulating film; and

a flexible printed circuit over said transparent conductive layer,

wherein said first wiring is at least partially parallel with said second wiring,

wherein said first wiring is electrically connected to said second wiring,

wherein said second wiring is electrically connected to said flexible printed circuit through said transparent conductive layer, and

wherein the transparent conductive layer does not overlap the sealant.

42. A camera according to claim 41, wherein said second insulating film is in contact with said transparent conductive layer.

43. A camera according to claim 41, wherein said second insulating film comprises a material selected from the group consisting of acryl and polyimide.

44. A camera according to claim 41, wherein said first wiring comprises aluminum.

45. A camera according to claim 41, wherein said transparent conductive layer comprises indium tin oxide.

46. A camera according to claim 41, wherein the second wiring transmits signals between the outside and inside of a sealant.

47. A cellular mobile phone comprising:

a main body;

a speech output portion;

a speech input portion;

an operation switch;

an antenna; and

a display device,

wherein the display device comprises;

a first wiring over a substrate;

a first insulating film over said first wiring;

a second wiring over said first insulating film;

a second insulating film over said first insulating film and second wiring;

a transparent conductive layer over said second wiring and said second insulating film; and

a flexible printed circuit over said transparent conductive layer,

wherein said first wiring is at least partially overlapped with said second wiring,

wherein said first wiring is electrically connected to said second wiring, and

wherein said second wiring is electrically connected to said flexible printed circuit through said transparent conductive layer.

48. A cellular mobile phone according to claim 47, wherein said second insulating film is in contact with said transparent conductive layer.

49. A cellular mobile phone according to claim 47, wherein said second insulating film comprises a material selected from the group consisting of acryl and polyimide.

50. A cellular mobile phone according to claim 47, wherein said first wiring comprises aluminum.

51. A cellular mobile phone according to claim 47, wherein said transparent conductive layer comprises indium tin oxide.

52. A cellular mobile phone comprising:

a main body;

a speech output portion;

a speech input portion;

an operation switch;

an antenna; and

a display device,

wherein the display device comprises;

a first wiring over a substrate;

a first insulating film over said first wiring;

a second wiring over said first insulating film;

a second insulating film over said first insulating film and second wiring;

a transparent conductive layer over said second wiring and said second insulating film; and

a flexible printed circuit over said transparent conductive layer,

wherein said first wiring is at least partially parallel with said second wiring,

wherein said first wiring is electrically connected to said second wiring, and

wherein said second wiring is electrically connected to said flexible printed circuit through said transparent conductive layer.

53. A cellular mobile phone according to claim 52, wherein said second insulating film is in contact with said transparent conductive layer.

54. A cellular mobile phone according to claim 52, wherein said second insulating film comprises a material selected from the group consisting of acryl and polyimide.

55. A cellular mobile phone according to claim 52, wherein said first wiring comprises aluminum.

56. A cellular mobile phone according to claim 52, wherein said transparent conductive layer comprises indium tin oxide.

57. A cellular mobile phone comprising:

a main body;

a speech output portion;

a speech input portion;

an operation switch;

an antenna; and

a display device,

wherein the display device comprises;

a first wiring over a substrate;

a first insulating film over said first wiring;

a second wiring over said first insulating film;

a second insulating film over said first insulating film and second wiring;

a sealant over said first insulating film and second wiring and on said second insulating film;

a transparent conductive layer over said second wiring and said second insulating film; and

a flexible printed circuit over said transparent conductive layer,

wherein said first wiring is at least partially overlapped with said second wiring,

wherein said first wiring is electrically connected to said second wiring,

wherein said second wiring is electrically connected to said flexible printed circuit through said transparent conductive layer, and

wherein the transparent conductive layer does not overlap the sealant.

58. A cellular mobile phone according to claim 57, wherein said second insulating film is in contact with said transparent conductive layer.

59. A cellular mobile phone according to claim 57, wherein said second insulating film comprises a material selected from the group consisting of acryl and polyimide.

60. A cellular mobile phone according to claim 57, wherein said first wiring comprises aluminum.

61. A cellular mobile phone according to claim 57, wherein said transparent conductive layer comprises indium tin oxide.

62. A cellular mobile phone according to claim 57, wherein the second wiring transmits signals between the outside and inside of the sealant.

63. A cellular mobile phone comprising:

a main body;

a speech output portion;

a speech input portion;

an operation switch;

an antenna; and

a display device,

wherein the display device comprises;

a first wiring over a substrate;

a first insulating film over said first wiring;

a second wiring over said first insulating film;

a second insulating film over said first insulating film and second wiring;

a sealant over said first insulating film and second wiring and on said second insulating film;

a transparent conductive layer over said second wiring and said second insulating film; and

a flexible printed circuit over said transparent conductive layer,

wherein said first wiring is at least partially parallel with said second wiring,

wherein said first wiring is electrically connected to said second wiring,

wherein said second wiring is electrically connected to said flexible printed circuit through said transparent conductive layer, and

wherein the transparent conductive layer does not overlap the sealant.

64. A cellular mobile phone according to claim 63, wherein said second insulating film is in contact with said transparent conductive layer.

65. A cellular mobile phone according to claim 63, wherein said second insulating film comprises a material selected from the group consisting of acryl and polyimide.

66. A cellular mobile phone according to claim 63, wherein said first wiring comprises aluminum.

67. A cellular mobile phone according to claim 63, wherein said transparent conductive layer comprises indium tin oxide.

68. A cellular mobile phone according to claim 63, wherein the second wiring transmits signals between the outside and inside of the sealant.

69. A mobile computer comprising:

a main body;

an operation switch; and

a display device,

wherein the display device comprises;

a first wiring over a substrate;

a first insulating film over said first wiring;

a second wiring over said first insulating film;

a second insulating film over said first insulating film and second wiring;

a transparent conductive layer over said second wiring and said second insulating film; and

a flexible printed circuit over said transparent conductive layer,

wherein said first wiring is at least partially overlapped with said second wiring,

wherein said first wiring is electrically connected to said second wiring, and

wherein said second wiring is electrically connected to said flexible printed circuit through said transparent conductive layer.

70. A mobile computer according to claim 69, wherein said second insulating film is in contact with said transparent conductive layer.

71. A mobile computer according to claim 69, wherein said second insulating film comprises a material selected from the group consisting of acryl and polyimide.

72. A mobile computer according to claim 69, wherein said first wiring comprises aluminum.

73. A mobile computer according to claim 69, wherein said transparent conductive layer comprises indium tin oxide.

74. A mobile computer comprising:

a main body;

an operation switch; and

a display device,

wherein the display device comprises;

a first wiring over a substrate;

a first insulating film over said first wiring;

a second wiring over said first insulating film;

a second insulating film over said first insulating film and second wiring;

a transparent conductive layer over said second wiring and said second insulating film; and

a flexible printed circuit over said transparent conductive layer,

wherein said first wiring is at least partially parallel with said second wiring,

wherein said first wiring is electrically connected to said second wiring, and

wherein said second wiring is electrically connected to said flexible printed circuit through said transparent conductive layer.

75. A mobile computer according to claim 74, wherein said second insulating film is in contact with said transparent conductive layer.

76. A mobile computer according to claim 74, wherein said second insulating film comprises a material selected from the group consisting of acryl and polyimide.

77. A mobile computer according to claim 74, wherein said first wiring comprises aluminum.

78. A mobile computer according to claim 74, wherein said transparent conductive layer comprises indium tin oxide.

79. A mobile computer comprising:

a main body;

an operation switch; and

a display device,

wherein the display device comprises;

a first wiring over a substrate;

a first insulating film over said first wiring;

a second wiring over said first insulating film;

a second insulating film over said first insulating film and second wiring;

a sealant over said first insulating film and second wiring and on said second insulating film;

a transparent conductive layer over said second wiring and said second insulating film; and

a flexible printed circuit over said transparent conductive layer,

wherein said first wiring is at least partially overlapped with said second wiring,

wherein said first wiring is electrically connected to said second wiring,

wherein said second wiring is electrically connected to said flexible printed circuit through said transparent conductive layer, and

wherein the transparent conductive layer does not overlap the sealant.

80. A mobile computer according to claim 79, wherein said second insulating film is in contact with said transparent conductive layer.

81. A mobile computer according to claim 79, wherein said second insulating film comprises a material selected from the group consisting of acryl and polyimide.

82. A mobile computer according to claim 79, wherein said first wiring comprises aluminum.

83. A mobile computer according to claim 79, wherein said transparent conductive layer comprises indium tin oxide.

84. A mobile computer according to claim 79, wherein the second wiring transmits signals between the outside and inside of the sealant.

85. A mobile computer comprising:

a main body;

an operation switch; and

a display device,

wherein the display device comprises;

a first wiring over a substrate;

a first insulating film over said first wiring;

a second wiring over said first insulating film;

a second insulating film over said first insulating film and second wiring;

a sealant over said first insulating film and second wiring and on said second insulating film;

a transparent conductive layer over said second wiring and said second insulating film; and

a flexible printed circuit over said transparent conductive layer,

wherein said first wiring is at least partially parallel with said second wiring,

wherein said first wiring is electrically connected to said second wiring,

wherein said second wiring is electrically connected to said flexible printed circuit through said transparent conductive layer,

wherein the transparent conductive layer does not overlap the sealant.

86. A mobile computer according to claim 85, wherein said second insulating film is in contact with said transparent conductive layer.

87. A mobile computer according to claim 85, wherein said second insulating film comprises a material selected from the group consisting of acryl and polyimide.

88. A mobile computer according to claim 85, wherein said first wiring comprises aluminum.

89. A mobile computer according to claim 85, wherein said transparent conductive layer comprises indium tin oxide.

90. A mobile computer according to claim 85, wherein the second wiring transmits signals between the outside and inside of the sealant.
