1. An implantable apparatus comprising:

  • at least two implantable telemetry circuits to communicate with an external device, the at least two telemetry circuits including a first telemetry circuit to wirelessly communicate using a first wireless link and a second telemetry circuit to wirelessly communicate using a second wireless link, the first wireless link different than the second wireless link; and

    an implantable controller coupled to each of the at least two telemetry circuits, the controller configured to select one of the at least two telemetry circuits for communicating, the one of the at least two telemetry circuits selected using a selection signal represented by a series of synchronization signals and wherein the selection signal is received from the external device using at least one telemetry circuit of the at least two telemetry circuits and further wherein the series of synchronization signals is periodic and each synchronization signal includes information indicative of a particular communication session.
