1. A method for degrading or converting plant cell wall polysaccharides into glucose, comprising:

  • treating the plant cell wall polysaccharides with an effective amount of a spent whole fermentation broth of a recombinant Trichoderma reesei cell comprising a heterologous polynucleotide encoding the beta-glucosidase of SEQ ID NO;

    27, wherein the Trichoderma reesei cell comprises one or more native genes encoding enzymes that degrade or convert plant cell wall polysaccharides and the spent whole fermentation broth degrades or converts the plant cell wall polysaccharides into glucose.
