1. A tool, comprising:

  • a wear-resistant base suitable for attachment to a driving mechanism;

    a second carbide segment is attached to an interfacial surface of the base;

    a hard tip brazed to the second carbide segment at an entirely planar interface opposite the wear resistant base comprising a first cemented metal carbide segment bonded to a superhard material at a non-planar interface;

    the superhard material comprising a conical surface opposite the non-planar interface;

    wherein a volume of the superhard material is about 75% to 150% of a volume of the first cemented metal carbide segment; and

    wherein a largest cross sectional thickness of the tip is less than half the of largest cross sectional thickness of the second carbide segment.
