1. A liquid crystal device comprising:

  • a pair of substrates with liquid crystal interposed therebetween;

    a first electrode formed above one of the pair of substrates;

    a second electrode disposed corresponding to a separate pixel region, an electric field being generated between the first electrode and the second electrode; and

    an insulating layer disposed between the first electrode and the second electrode,wherein the second electrode includes a plurality of first conductive sections which extend along a predetermined direction and which are disposed adjacent to each other,the second electrode including a second conductive section which connects the plurality of first conductive sections,the first electrode including at least one aperture within at least one region corresponding to a gap region between adjacent ones of the plurality of first conductive sections, andthe at least one aperture is located asymmetrically in, as opposed to being aligned at a midpoint of, the corresponding gap region in the predetermined direction.
