1. A frequency up-converter, comprising:

  • an acceptance module that receives a signal; and

a harmonic generation and extraction module (HGEM) to generate a harmonically rich signal containing a plurality of Fourier component harmonics, and to extract one or more Fourier component harmonics from the plurality of Fourier component harmonics, said extracted Fourier component harmonics each having a frequency greater than a frequency of the received signal, and said HGEM being coupled to said acceptance module.
