1. A method for programming a schedule of a programmable controller having a user interface, wherein the programmable controller is configured to control one or more pieces of equipment in accordance with the schedule, the schedule includes a plurality of time periods for each of at least two days of the schedule, wherein each day has the same number of time periods, the method comprising:

  • allowing a user to assign a first tag value to at least two time periods of the schedule via the user interface, wherein the first tag value can be assigned by the user to any of the plurality of time periods for any of the at least two days of the schedule; and

    allowing a user to assign a first control parameter value to the first tag value via the user interface, wherein the programmable controller uses the first control parameter value when controlling the one or more pieces of equipment during each of the at least two time periods of the schedule that the first tag value has been assigned by the user.
