Abstract

A display apparatus is provided. A frame is fixed and supported at the rear of a front panel forming the front portion of the display apparatus, and a separate bracket member is not mounted on the edges of the front panel. Thus, the front exterior of the display apparatus is neatly finished, and the display screen looks bigger than it actually is.

Claims

1. A display apparatus, comprising:

a front panel that defines a front portion of the display apparatus, wherein side edge portions of the front panel that extend substantially perpendicular to a front surface of the front panel are externally exposed;

a plurality of frames fixed to a rear surface of the front panel, the plurality of frames substantially perpendicularly contacting one another at respective ends thereof;

a display module fixed to the plurality of frames that outputs an image; and

a rear housing that covers at least one of the plurality of frames and the display module, wherein contacting ends of the plurality of frames have portions that are stepped at least once, to prevent misalignment between the contacting surfaces caused by an external force,

wherein the front panel is formed of transparent material such that an image of the display module is enabled to be viewed therethrough, and wherein the front panel includes an opaque film layer formed along a rear perimeter of the front panel, and the plurality of frames are mounted along the opaque film layer.

2. The display apparatus according to claim 1, further comprising at least one bracket fixed at a point where two of the frames contact each other at their ends.

3. The display apparatus according to claim 2, wherein the at least one bracket is bent to connect the two contacting frames.

4. The display apparatus according to claim 2, wherein the display module is mounted on the at least one bracket and is spaced apart from the plurality of frames.

5. The display apparatus according to claim 2, wherein the at least one bracket comprises:

a boss, on which an edge of the display module is mounted; and

a rib that prevents movement of the display module.

6. The display apparatus according to claim 1, wherein the plurality of frames are fixed to the rear surface of the front panel by an adhering member, the adhering member including one of a double-sided tape or an adhesive.

7. The display apparatus according to claim 1, wherein the front panel is formed in a transparent plate shape, and the plurality of frames are mounted to the rear surface of the front panel by an adhering member.

8. A display apparatus, comprising:

a front panel with at least a portion of an edge thereof externally exposed, wherein side edge portions of the front panel that extend substantially perpendicular to a front surface of the front panel are externally exposed;

a plurality of frames mounted along a rear perimeter of the front panel, the plurality of frames being in a close contact with one another at ends thereof;

a display module fixed to the plurality of frames; and

a rear housing that covers and protects at least the display module at a rear of the front panel, wherein at least a portion of surfaces in close contact one another at the ends of the plurality of frames is stepped, to prevent misalignment between the surfaces caused by an external force,

wherein the front panel includes an opaque film layer formed along the rear perimeter of the front panel, and the plurality of frames are mounted along the opaque film layer, and wherein the front panel is formed of transparent material such that an image of the display module is enabled to be viewed therethrough.

9. A display apparatus, comprising:

a front panel, wherein side edge portions of the front panel that extend substantially perpendicular to a front surface of the front panel are externally exposed;

a plurality of frames fixed to a rear surface of the front panel, that contact one another at ends thereof;

a display module fixed and coupled to rear surfaces of the plurality of frames, wherein contacting surfaces between the plurality of frames are aligned with diagonal lines connecting corners of the front panel; and

at least a portion of the contacting surfaces is stepped in a direction deviating from the diagonal lines,

wherein the front panel is formed of transparent material such that an image of the display module is enabled to be viewed therethrough, and

wherein the front panel includes an opaque film layer formed along a rear perimeter of the front panel, and the plurality of frames are mounted along the opaque film layer.
