  • a fixture housing having at least one thermally conductive portion;

    a socket mounted to the at least one thermally conductive portion of the fixture housing; and

    a light-generating module including a removable ring configured to engage the socket, and an LED assembly;

    wherein the socket is configured to facilitate formation of a thermal conduction path between the LED assembly and the at least one thermally conductive portion of the fixture housing with the light-generating module installed in the socket,wherein the removable ring in combination with the socket is further configured to apply a mechanical force to assist in retaining the LED assembly within the socket and to facilitate an electrical connection between the LED assembly and the socket,wherein the mechanical force is applied in an axial direction relative to the socket and is provided by rotationally engaging the removable ring with the socket with the LED assembly remaining in a substantially constant rotational position.
