1. A method of modulating thermal, mechanical, and surface properties of a coating and applying the coating on an implantable device, comprising:

  • (1) Providing a first polymer, wherein said first polymer has a glass transition temperature less than or equal to 37°

    C. and is selected from a poly(ester amide), poly(glycerol sebacic acid), and a low Tg PolyAspirin,(2) Reacting said first polymer with a chemical stiffening agent, wherein the agent is an aromatic diol,(3) Obtaining a second polymer having a Tg higher than the Tg of the first polymer,(4) Forming a coating comprising the second polymer, and(5) Applying the coating on an implantable device.
