Abstract

A system and method links one or more disparate community awareness management (CAM) datasets for a community awareness program (CAP) with one or more spatial layers to create linked CAM datasets. One or more data attributes common to a CAM dataset and a spatial layer are identified, and the link is defined between the CAM dataset and the spatial layer. The spatial layer and the linked CAM dataset then may be queried using a single input query. Features from the spatial layer and features from the linked CAM dataset that match the query are generated for display. In one embodiment, a system and method manage CAP assets, transactions, interest areas for the CAP, and buffer areas for the CAP. An audience utility enables entering and maintaining audience data for the CAP. A journal utility enables making journal entries for one or more audience members, CAP assets, transactions, and/or other CAM data. A link document utility enables linking one or more documents to CAM data.

Claims

1. A system for managing community awareness data for a community awareness program (CAP), the CAP providing information associated with at least one asset for the CAP to at least one contact for the CAP, the system comprising:

at least one processor;

a data management system executing on the at least one processor comprising;

community awareness management (CAM) data, the CAM data comprising CAP asset data for the at least one CAP asset and audience data for the at least one contact for the CAP to which at least some of the information associated with the at least one CAP asset is provided; and

geospatial data for an area for the CAP;

a spatial management system executing on the at least one processor, generating at least one query for the CAM data and the geospatial data to the data management system, receiving selected CAM data and selected geospatial data from the data management system in response to the at least one query, and generating map data based on the selected geospatial data and at least some selected CAM data, the map data identifying at least a portion of the area for the CAP, the at least one contact within the CAP area portion to which the at least some information associated with the at least one CAP asset is provided, and at least one member of a group consisting of at least one CAP asset portion within the CAP area portion, at least one interest area portion for the at least one CAP asset within the CAP area portion, and at least one buffer area portion for the at least one CAP asset within the CAP area portion;

a program management system executing on the at least one processor, receiving an input, initiating the at least one query to the spatial management system based on the input, receiving the map data and the selected CAM data from the spatial management system, and generating at least one result of the query, the at least one result comprising the map data and the selected CAM data, the selected CAM data comprising at least one second member of a second group consisting of at least some of the CAP asset data for the at least one CAP asset and at least some of the audience data for the at least one contact to which the at least some information associated with the at least one CAP asset is provided; and

a user interface receiving the input, transmitting the input to the program management system, receiving the at least one result from the program management system, and generating the at least one result for display.

2. The system of claim 1 further comprising a journal management system managing at least one journal entry for at least one third member of a third group consisting of the at least one contact and the at least one CAP asset.

The system of claim 2 wherein the journal management system enables entry of at least one new journal entry identifying at least one communication for the at least one third member and editing at least one fourth member of a fourth group consisting of the at least one journal entry and the at least one new journal entry.

4. The system of claim 2 wherein the journal management system automatically generates the at least one journal entry when the at least one contact is added or modified, the at least one journal entry identifying at least one fourth member of a fourth group consisting of an action taken, a user that made the action, and a date the action was taken.

5. The system of claim 1 further comprising an audience management system managing the audience data for the at least one contact.

6. The system of claim 5 wherein the audience management system enables audience data entry comprising at least one third member of a third group consisting of entering new audience data for a new contact entry and editing the audience data.

7. The system of claim 1 further comprising a document management system to associate at least one document to data for at least one third member of a third group consisting of the at least one contact and the at least one CAP asset.

8. The system of claim 7 wherein the program management system generates link data for a link for the associated at least one document to the user interface for display and the document management system generates the at least one document to the user interface upon selection of the link.

9. The system of claim 7 wherein the document management system generates the associated at least one document to the user interface upon generation of the at least one result to the user.

10. The system of claim 1 wherein the CAP comprises at least one third member of a third group consisting of:

a pipeline CAP, wherein the CAM data comprises at least one fourth member of a fourth group consisting of pipeline asset data for at least one pipeline asset, pipeline interest area data for the at least one pipeline asset, pipeline buffer area data for the at least one pipeline asset, the audience data for the at least one contact, journal data for at least one journal entry, document data for at least one document, pipeline audit data for the at least one pipeline asset, and pipeline location data for the at least one pipeline asset;

a call center CAP, wherein the CAM data comprises at least one fifth member of a fifth group consisting of call center asset data for at least one call center asset, call center interest area data for the at least one call center asset, call center buffer area data for the at least one call center asset, the audience data, the journal data, the document data, call center audit data for the at least one call center asset, and call center location data for the at least one call center asset; and

a utility CAP, wherein the CAM data comprises at least one sixth member of a sixth group consisting of utility asset data for at least one utility asset, utility interest area data for the at least one utility asset, utility buffer area data for the at least one utility asset, the audience data, the journal data, the document data, utility audit data for the at least one utility asset, and utility location data for the at least one utility asset.

The system of claim 1 wherein the CAM data further comprises at least one third member of a third group consisting of interest area data for the at least one interest area portion, buffer area data for the at least one buffer area portion, the audience data, other audience data for a plurality of other contacts, journal data for at least one journal entry, document data for at least one document, audit data for the at least one CAP asset, other audit data for the at least one contact, location data for the at least one CAP asset, other location data for the at least one contact, statistic data for the at least one contact, and other statistic data for the at least one CAP asset.

12. The system of claim 1 wherein the at least some selected CAM data consists of the at least some of audience data for the at least one contact.

13. The system of claim 1 wherein the CAM data comprises other audience data for a plurality of other contacts and the at least one result comprises at least the map data, the selected CAM data, and the other audience data for the plurality of other contacts.

14. The system of claim 1 wherein the program management system enables entry of at least one new contact and editing at least one third member of a third group consisting of the at least one contact and the at least one new contact.

15. The system of claim 1 wherein the spatial management system generates the map data identifying members consisting of the at least the CAP area portion, the at least one contact within the CAP area portion, and the at least one interest area portion within the CAP area portion.

16. The system of claim 1 wherein the spatial management system generates the map data identifying members consisting of the at least the CAP area portion, the at least one contact within the CAP area portion, and the at least one buffer area portion within the CAP area portion.

17. The system of claim 1 wherein the CAM data comprises other audience data for a plurality of other contacts and the spatial management system generates the map data identifying members consisting of the at least the CAP area portion, the at least one contact within the CAP area portion, the at least one buffer area portion within the CAP area portion, and the other contacts with at least some of the other contacts within the at least one buffer area portion.

18. The system of claim 1 wherein the CAM data comprises other audience data for a plurality of other contacts and the spatial management system generates the map data identifying at least some of the other contacts.

19. The system of claim 1 wherein the spatial management system generates the map data identifying members consisting of the CAP area portion, the at least one contact within the CAP area portion, and the at least one CAP asset within the CAP area portion.

20. The system of claim 1 wherein the spatial management system generates the map data identifying members consisting of the CAP area portion, the at least one contact within the CAP area portion, the at least one CAP asset within the CAP area portion, and the at least one buffer area portion within the CAP area portion.

21. The system of claim 1 wherein the system comprises other geospatial data for the area for the CAP, the user interface generates other map data identifying the other geospatial data, and the input comprises a selection of the other map data.

22. The system of claim 21 wherein the other map data identifies the at least one contact, the input comprises a selection of an identifier of the at least one contact from the other map data, and the at least one result comprises the audience data for the at least one contact.

23. The system of claim 1 wherein the user interface further comprises a tool input accepting entry of the input for the query.

24. The system of claim 1 wherein the input comprises at least one third member of a third group consisting of an address, a street, an intersection, a county, a zip code, a city, a state, a region, a location code, a SIC code, and a FIPS code.

25. The system of claim 1 wherein the input comprises at least one third member of a third group consisting of an audience type, a journal entry type, a company name, a phone number, and a contact name.

45. The system of claim 1 wherein the at least some information comprises at least one third member of a third group consisting of training information, safety information, company information, asset information, asset operation information, certification information, emergency information, emergency response information, environment information, accident information, phone information, mailer information, training session information, and audit information.

26. A system for managing community awareness data, the system comprising:

at least one processor;

a data management system executing on the at least one processor comprising;

community awareness management (CAM) data for a community awareness program (CAP), the CAP providing information associated with at least one CAP asset for at least one audience member for the CAP, the CAM data comprising audience data for the at least one audience member and CAP asset data for the at least one CAP asset; and

geospatial data for an area associated with the CAP;

a spatial management system executing on the at least one processor, generating a query of the geospatial data to the data management system, receiving selected geospatial data from the data management system in response to the at least one query, and generating map data based on the selected geospatial data, the map data identifying at least a portion of the area associated with the CAP and at least one member of a group consisting of at least one CAP asset portion within the CAP area portion, at least one interest area portion for the at least one CAP asset within the CAP area portion, and at least one buffer area portion for the at least one CAP asset within the CAP area portion;

a program management system executing on the at least one processor, accepting an input, initiating the query corresponding to the input to the spatial management system, receiving the map data from the spatial management system, retrieving at least some CAM data corresponding to the query of the data management system, and generating, based on the at least some CAM data, at least one instruction to render at least one point feature for the at least one audience member within the CAP area portion for which the information associated with the at least one CAP asset is provided, the at least some CAM data comprising at least some of the audience data for the at least one audience member for which the information associated with the at least one CAP asset is provided and, optionally, at least some of the CAP asset data for the at least one CAP asset; and

a user interface receiving the input, transmitting the input to the program management system, receiving the at least some CAM data and the map data from the program management system, and generating the at least some CAM data and the map data for display.

27. The system of claim 26 wherein the CAP comprises at least one second member of a second group consisting of:

a pipeline, wherein the CAM data comprises at least one third member of a third group consisting of pipeline asset data for at least one pipeline asset, pipeline interest area data for the at least one pipeline asset, pipeline buffer area data for the at least one pipeline asset, journal data for at least one journal entry, document data for at least one document, pipeline audit data for the at least one pipeline asset, and pipeline location data for the at least one pipeline asset;

a call center CAP, wherein the CAM data comprises at least one fourth member of a fourth group consisting of call center asset data for at least one call center asset, call center interest area data for the at least one call center asset, call center buffer area data for the at least one call center asset, the journal data, the document data, call center audit data for the at least one call center asset, and call center location data for the at least one call center asset; and

a utility CAP, wherein the CAM data comprises at least one fifth member of a fifth group consisting of utility asset data for at least one utility asset, utility interest area data for the at least one utility asset, utility buffer area data for the at least one utility asset, the journal data, the document data, utility audit data for the at least one utility asset, and utility location data for the at least one utility asset.

28. The system of claim 26 wherein the CAM data comprises at least one second member of a second group consisting of other CAP asset data, interest area data, buffer area data, journal data, document data, audit data, location data, and statistic data.

29. The system of claim 26 further comprising an audience management system managing audience data for the at least one audience member.

30. The system of claim 29 wherein the audience management system enables audience data entry comprising at least one second member of a second group consisting of entering the audience data for a new audience entry and editing the audience data.

31. The system of claim 30 wherein the audience data entry comprises audience location data and the spatial management system geocodes the audience location data.

32. The system of claim 26 further comprising a journal management system managing at least one journal entry for at least one second member of a second group consisting of the at least one audience member and the at least one CAP asset.

33. The system of claim 32 wherein the journal management system enables journal data entry identifying at least one communication for the at least one second member, the journal data entry comprising at least one third member of a third group consisting of entering journal data for the at least one journal entry and editing the journal data for the at least one journal entry.

34. The system of claim 26 further comprising a document management system to associate at least one document to at least one other member of a second group consisting of the at least one audience member and the at least one CAP asset.

35. The system of claim 26 wherein the data management system comprises other geospatial data for the area for the CAP, the user interface generates other map data identifying the other geospatial data, and the input comprises a selection of the other map data.

36. The system of claim 35 wherein the other map data identifies the at least one audience member, the input comprises a selection of an identifier of the at least one audience member from the other map data, and the at least some CAM data comprises audience member data for the at least one audience member.

37. The system of claim 26 wherein the input comprises at least one second member of a second group consisting of an address, a street, an intersection, a county, a zip code, a city, a state, a region, a location code, a SIC code, and a FIPS code.

38. The system of claim 26 wherein the input comprises at least one second member of a second group consisting of an audience type, a journal entry type, a company name, a phone number, and a contact name.

46. The system of claim 26 wherein the information comprises at least one third member of a third group consisting of training information, safety information, company information, asset information, asset operation information, certification information, emergency information, emergency response information, environment information, accident information, phone information, mailer information, training session information, and audit information.

39. A system for managing community awareness data for a community awareness program (CAP), the CAP providing information associated with at least one CAP asset to a plurality of audience members for the CAP relative to a buffer area for the at least one CAP asset, the system comprising:

at least one processor;

a data management system executing on the at least one processor to manage data in memory comprising;

community awareness management (CAM) data, the CAM data comprising CAP asset data for the at least one CAP asset and audience data for at least some of the plurality of audience members provided at least some of the information associated with the at least one CAP asset; and

geospatial data for an area for the CAP;

a spatial management system executing on the at least one processor, generating at least one query of the CAM data and the geospatial data to the data management system, and generating map data based on at least some CAM data and at least some geospatial data selected in response to the at least one query, the map data identifying at least a portion of the area for the CAP, at least one CAP asset portion within the CAP area portion, at least one buffer area portion for the at least one CAP asset, and the at least some audience members within the CAP area portion provided the at least some information associated with the at least one CAP asset, the map data identifying the at least some audience members relative to the at least one buffer area portion;

a program management system executing on the at least one processor, receiving an input, initiating the at least one query to the spatial management system based on the input, and generating at least one result of the query, the at least one result comprising the map data and at least one member of a group consisting of at least some CAP asset data for the at least one CAP asset and at least some audience data for the at least some audience members provided the at least some information associated with the at least one CAP asset; and

a user interface receiving the input, providing the input to the program management system, receiving the at least one result from the program management system, and generating the at least one result for display.

40. A system for managing community awareness data for a community awareness program (CAP), the CAP providing information associated with at least one CAP asset to a plurality of audience members for the CAP, the system comprising:

at least one processor;

a data management system executing on the at least one processor to manage data in memory comprising;

community awareness management (CAM) data, the CAM data comprising CAP asset data for the at least one CAP asset and audience data for the plurality of audience members to which the information associated with the at least one CAP asset is provided;

geospatial data for an area for the CAP; and

a spatial management system executing on the at least one processor, generating at least one query of the CAM data and the geospatial data to the data management system, and generating map data based on at least some CAM data and at least some geospatial data selected in response to the at least one query, the map data identifying at least a portion of the area for the CAP, at least one CAP asset portion within the CAP area portion, and at least some of the plurality of audience members within the CAP area portion to which the information associated with the at least one CAP asset is provided;

a program management system executing on the at least one processor, receiving an input, initiating the at least one query to the spatial management system based on the input, receiving the map data from the spatial management system, and generating at least one result of the query, the at least one result comprising the map data and at least one member of a group consisting of at least some CAP asset data for the at least one CAP asset and at least some audience data for the at least some audience members to which the information associated with the at least one CAP asset is provided; and

a user interface receiving the input, transmitting the input to the program management system, receiving the at least one result from the program management system, and generating the at least one result for display.

41. A system for managing community awareness data for a community awareness program (CAP), the CAP providing information associated with at least one CAP asset to a plurality of audience members for the CAP, the system comprising:

at least one processor;

a data management system executing on the at least one processor to manage data in memory comprising;

community awareness management (CAM) data, the CAM data comprising CAP asset data for the at least one CAP asset and audience data for the plurality of audience members to which the information associated with the at least one CAP asset is provided; and

geospatial data for an area for the CAP;

a spatial management system executing on the at least one processor, generating at least one query of the CAM data and the geospatial data to the data management system, and generating map data based on at least some CAM data and at least some geospatial data selected in response to the at least one query, the map data identifying at least a portion of the area for the CAP, at least one CAP asset portion within the CAP area portion, at least one interest area portion for the at least one CAP asset within the CAP area portion, and at least some of the plurality of audience members within the CAP area portion to which at least some of the information associated with the at least one CAP asset is provided, the map data identifying the at least some audience members relative to the at least one interest area portion;

a program management system executing on the at least one processor, receiving an input, initiating the at least one query of the CAM data and the geospatial data to the spatial management system based on the input, receiving the map data from the spatial management system, and generating at least one result of the query, the at least one result comprising the map data and at least one member of a group consisting of at least some CAP asset data for the at least one CAP asset and at least some audience data for the at least some audience members to which the at least some information associated with the at least one CAP asset is provided; and

a user interface receiving the input, providing the input to the program management system, receiving the at least one result from the program management system, and generating the at least one result for display.

42. A system for managing community awareness data for a community awareness program (CAP), the CAP providing information associated with at least one CAP asset to a plurality of audience members for the CAP within a buffer area for the at least one CAP asset, the system comprising:

at least one processor;

a data management system operating on the at least one processor to manage data in a data storage device comprising;

community awareness management (CAM) data, the CAM data comprising CAP asset data for the at least one CAP asset and audience data for at least some of the plurality of audience members provided at least some of the information associated with the at least one CAP asset; and

geospatial data for an area for the CAP;

a spatial management system operating on the at least one processor and generating at least one query to the data management system of the CAM data and the geospatial data, generating map data in response to the at least one query, the map data identifying at least a portion of the area for the CAP, at least one CAP asset portion within the CAP area portion, at least one buffer area portion for the at least one CAP asset, and the at least some audience members provided the at least some information associated with the at least one CAP asset, the map data identifying the at least some audience members within the at least one buffer area portion, the map data identifying the at least some audience members generated based on at least some CAM data selected in response to the at least one query;

a program management system operating on the at least one processor and receiving an input, initiating the at least one query to the spatial management system based on the input, receiving the map data from the spatial management system, and generating at least one result, the at least one result comprising the map data and at least one member of a group consisting of at least some CAP asset data for the at least one CAP asset and at least some audience data for the at least some audience members provided the at least some information associated with the at least one CAP asset; and

a user interface receiving the input, transmitting the input to the program management system, receiving the at least one result from the program management system, and generating the at least one result for display.

43. A system for managing community awareness data, the system comprising:

at least one processor;

a data management system operating on the at least one processor to manage data in memory comprising;

community awareness management (CAM) data for a community awareness program (CAP), the CAP providing information associated with at least one CAP asset to a plurality of audience members for the CAP relative to a buffer area for the at least one CAP asset, the CAM data comprising CAP asset data for the at least one CAP asset and audience data for the plurality of CAP audience members to which the information associated with the at least one CAP asset is provided; and

geospatial data for an area for the CAP;

a spatial management system operating on the at least one processor and generating at least one query to the data management system of the CAM data and the geospatial data, generating map data in response to the at least one query, the map data identifying at least a portion of the area for the CAP, at least one CAP asset portion within the CAP area portion, at least one predefined buffer area portion for the at least one CAP asset within the CAP area portion, and at least some of the plurality of CAP audience members within the CAP area portion to which at least some of the information associated with the at least one CAP asset is provided, the map data identifying the at least some CAP audience members relative to the at least one predefined buffer area portion, the map data identifying the at least some CAP audience members generated based on at least some CAM data selected in response to the at least one query;

a program management system operating on the at least one processor and receiving an input, initiating the at least one query to the spatial management system based on the input, receiving the map data from the spatial management system, and generating at least one result, the at least one result comprising the map data and at least one member of a group consisting of at least some CAP asset data for the at least one CAP asset and at least some audience data for the at least some CAP audience members to which the at least some information associated with the at least one CAP asset is provided; and

a user interface receiving the input, transmitting the input to the program management system, receiving the at least one result from the program management system, and generating the at least one result for display.

44. A system for managing community awareness data, the system comprising:

at least one processor;

a data management system operating on the at least one processor to manage data in memory comprising;

community awareness management (CAM) data for a community awareness program (CAP), the CAP providing information associated with at least one CAP asset to a plurality of audience members for the CAP relative to a buffer area for the at least one CAP asset, the CAM data comprising CAP asset data for the at least one CAP asset and audience data for the plurality of CAP audience members to which the information associated with the at least one CAP asset is provided; and

geospatial data for an area for the CAP;

a spatial management system operating on the at least one processor and generating at least one query to the data management system, generating map data in response to the at least one query, the map data identifying at least a portion of the area for the CAP, at least one CAP asset portion within the CAP area portion, at least one buffer area portion for the at least one CAP asset within the CAP area portion, and at least some of the plurality of CAP audience members within the CAP area portion to which at least some of the information associated with the at least one CAP asset is provided, the map data identifying the at least some CAP audience members relative to the at least one buffer area portion, the spatial management system further generating other map data automatically identifying the at least one buffer area portion without requiring entry of buffer data for the at least one buffer area portion, the map data identifying the at least some CAP audience members generated based on at least some audience data selected in response to the at least one query;

a program management system operating on the at least one processor and receiving an input, initiating the at least one query to the spatial management system based on the input, receiving the map data from the spatial management system, and generating at least one result, the at least one result comprising the map data and at least one member of a group consisting of at least some CAP asset data for the at least one CAP asset and at least some audience data for the at least some CAP audience members to which the at least some information associated with the at least one CAP asset is provided; and

a user interface receiving the input, transmitting the input to the program management system, receiving the at least one result from the program management system, and generating the at least one result for display.

47. A system for managing community awareness data, the system comprising:

at least one processor;

a data management system executing on the at least one processor to manage data in memory comprising;

community awareness management (CAM) data for a community awareness program (CAP), the CAP providing information associated with at least one CAP asset for at least one audience member for the CAP, the CAM data comprising audience data for the at least one audience member and CAP asset data for the at least one CAP asset; and

geospatial data for an area associated with the CAP;

a spatial management system executing on the at least one processor, receiving at least some selected CAM data, generating at least one query of the geospatial data to the data management system, receiving selected geospatial data from the data management system in response to the at least one query, and generating map data based on the selected geospatial data and the at least some selected CAM data, the map data identifying at least a portion of the area associated with the CAP, the at least one audience member within the CAP area portion for which the information associated with the at least one CAP asset is provided, and at least one member of a group consisting of at least one CAP asset portion within the CAP area portion, at least one interest area portion for the at least one CAP asset within the CAP area portion, and at least one buffer area portion for the at least one CAP asset within the CAP area portion;

a program management system executing on the at least one processor, accepting an input, initiating at least one second query corresponding to the input to the data management system and receiving selected CAM data in response thereto, transmitting the at least some selected CAM data to the spatial management system, initiating the at least one query corresponding to the input to the spatial management system, and receiving the map data from the spatial management system, the selected CAM data comprising at least one second member of a second group consisting of at least some of the audience data for the at least one audience member for which the information associated with the at least one CAP asset is provided and at least some of the CAP asset data for the at least one CAP asset; and

a user interface receiving the input, transmitting the input to the program management system, receiving the selected CAM data and the map data from the program management system, and generating the selected CAM data and the map data for display.

48. The system of claim 47 wherein the selected CAM data comprises at least one third member of a third group consisting of other CAP asset data, interest area data, buffer area data, journal data, document data, audit data, location data, and statistic data.

49. The system of claim 47 further comprising an audience management system managing audience data for the at least one audience member.

50. The system of claim 49 wherein the audience management system enables audience data entry comprising at least one third member of a third group consisting of entering the audience data for a Previously Presented audience entry and editing the audience data.

51. The system of claim 50 wherein the audience data entry comprises audience location data and the spatial management system geocodes the audience location data.

52. The system of claim 47 further comprising a journal management system managing at least one journal entry for at least one ether second member of the second group consisting of the at least one audience member and the at least one CAP asset.

The system of claim 52 wherein the journal management system enables journal data entry identifying at least one communication for the at least one second member, the journal data entry comprising at least one third member of a third group consisting of entering journal data for the at least one journal entry and editing the journal data for the at least one journal entry.

54. The system of claim 47 further comprising a document management system to associate at least one document to at least one other member of the second group consisting of the at least one audience member and the at least one CAP asset.

55. The system of claim 47 wherein the data management system comprises other geospatial data for the area for the CAP, the user interface generates other map data identifying the other geospatial data, and the input comprises a selection of the other map data.

56. The system of claim 55 wherein the other map data identifies the at least one audience member, the input comprises a selection of an identifier of the at least one audience member from the other map data, and the at least some CAM data comprises audience member data for the at least one audience member.

57. The system of claim 47 wherein the input comprises at least one third member of a third group consisting of an address, a street, an intersection, a county, a zip code, a city, a state, a region, a location code, a SIC code, and a FIPS code.

58. The system of claim 47 wherein the input comprises at least one third member of a third group consisting of an audience type, a journal entry type, a company name, a phone number, and a contact name.
