1. A cardiac method, comprising:

  • sensing a plurality of composite cardiac signals using a plurality of implantable electrodes;

    performing a source separation using the sensed plurality of composite cardiac signals;

    producing one or more cardiac signal vectors associated with all or a portion of one or more cardiac activation sequences based on the source separation;

    determining one or more orientations of the one or more cardiac signal vectors; and

    discriminating between supra-ventricular tachycardia (SVT) and ventricular tachycardia (VT) using the one or more orientations of the one or more cardiac signal vectors,wherein discriminating between SVT and VT comprises determining whether the one or more orientations of the one or more cardiac signal vectors are within a vector orientation range established based on one or more previous SVT events, and performing the source separation, producing the one or more cardiac signal vectors, determining the one or more orientations, and discriminating are each performed at least in part by circuitry of a medical system.
