1. A computer implemented method, comprising:

  • receiving measured received signal strength from at least one node in a wireless network;

    determining whether the measured received signal strength is either greater than an upper control limit or below a lower control limit;

    in the event the determination is that the measured received signal strength is either greater than an upper control limit or below a lower control limit, determining whether the number of measured real signal strengths, which are greater than the upper control limit or below the lower control limit, violates an out of bound incidence limit; and

    in the event the determination is that number of measured real signal strengths above an upper control limit or below a lower control limit violates an out of bound incidence limit, calculating an accepted received signal strength,wherein the upper control limit=accepted received signal strength+configurable control limit parameter,wherein the lower control limit=accepted received signal strength−

    configurable control limit parameter; and

    wherein the method further comprises updating routing information based on the new accepted received signal strength.
