1. A method for processing data collected via a wireless network of sensor module, comprising:

  • receiving data from a wireless network sensor module having a plurality of sensors for generating signals relating to ambient conditions proximate the sensors in a monitored space, a processor for receiving and processing data from the sensors, and a wireless transmitter for wirelessly transmitting data;

    parsing events based upon the received data, wherein the parsed events are determined by a change in the signals indicating a corresponding change in the ambient conditions proximate the corresponding sensors;

    parsing episodes based upon the parsed events, wherein the parsed episodes are determined to occur when at least two parsed events occur at adjacent sensors in the wireless network sensor module within a particular time frame;

    parsing vectors based upon the parsed episodes, wherein a direction of a parsed vector is determined based on locations of the adjacent sensors identified in a corresponding parsed episode, wherein the direction of the parsed vector indicates a direction of travel of an object or person in the monitored space;

    parsing links based upon the parsed vectors, wherein the parsed links are determined by processing each vector in time order determining vectors that correlate to a valid path the object or person can take when traversing the monitored space;

    processing the parsed links to determine pedestrian traffic patterns in the monitored space; and

    designing a layout and placement of goods for sale in the monitored space based upon the determined traffic patterns.
