1. A method for activating the bone marrow of a subject for wound repair comprising:

  • releasing bone marrow from the bone adjacent to the site of a wound in the subject; and

    topically administering to the site of the wound with released bone marrow a composition comprising beeswax at a concentration of 1%-20% by weight and a fatty acid-containing oil at a concentration of at least 10% by weight based on the total weight of the composition; and

    a sterol compound at a concentration of at least 1% by weight based on the total weight of the composition.
