1. A device for determining the surface topology and associated color of at least a portion of a three dimensional structure, comprising:

  • optical scanner configured for providing depth data of the portion corresponding to a two-dimensional reference array substantially orthogonal to a depth direction;

    imaging means configured for providing two-dimensional color image data of the portion associated with the reference array;

    wherein the device is configured for maintaining a spatial disposition with respect to the portion that is substantially fixed during operation of the optical scanner and the imaging means.
