1. An interspinous device for stabilizing at least one spinal motion segment comprising a first vertebra having a first spinous process and a second vertebra having a second spinous process, the device comprising:

  • a metal member having side portions, end portions and apexes defined between the side portions and the end portions, wherein the end portions are recessed to provide a narrowed central portion, wherein the metal member has a delivery configuration and a deployed configuration, wherein the metal member in the delivery configuration has a narrow, elongated generally cylindrical shape configured to be translated through a delivery cannula, and wherein the side portions of the metal member project from the central portion to have a substantially H-shaped configuration of a size and shape configured for positioning between and providing distraction of the first and second spinous processes in the deployed configuration.
