1. A percutaneous vascular valve, comprising:

  • a stentless vascular valve body having at least one flexible member for restricting blood flow though a vascular vessel, the flexible member having a central portion for extending out into a lumen of the vascular vessel and an edge which bounds the central portion for contacting a wall of a vascular vessel;

    said edge adapted to attach to said wall, wherein said edge includes an array of vessel wall-penetrating elements two or more vessel wall-penetrating elements wide and having vessel wall-penetrating elements arranged longitudinally and generally laterally with respect to one another along said edge so as to provide said array extending along a first region of the edge and along a second region of the edge with said central portion extending therebetween and being free of vessel wall-penetrating elements.
