1. A system for processing data signals obtained from a glucose sensor, the system comprising:

  • a receiving module that receives a signal from a glucose sensor over a period of time;

    a pressure detector configured to generate a signal indicative of a measured pressure within the glucose sensor; and

    a processor module comprising programming that when executed by a processor configures the processor module to detect transient non-glucose related signal artifacts based at least in part on the signal from the glucose sensor and the signal from the pressure detector and output to an external device or display estimated glucose values in response to the detection of the detected transient non-glucose related signal artifacts.
