1. A surgical device, comprising:

  • a first jaw in opposed correspondence to a second jaw, the first and second jaws pivotably connected to each other;

    a first driver configured to be coupled to a first rotatable drive shaft;

    a second driver configured to be coupled to a second rotatable drive shaft;

    a horizontal driver element having a proximal end and a distal end, the proximal end configured to be engaged to the first rotatable drive shaft of the first driver and the distal end configured to include an opening;

    a first rotatable clamp element having a first end, a second end, and a third end, the first end pivotably connected to the opening of the horizontal driver element, wherein the third end of the first rotatable clamp element is pivotably connected to the first jaw; and

    a second rotatable clamp element, the second end of the first rotatable clamp element being pivotably connected to a proximal end of the second rotatable clamp element, wherein a distal end of the second rotatable clamp element is pivotably connected to the second jaw;

    wherein rotation of the first rotatable drive element causes the horizontal driver element to move parallel to the second jaw, which in turn causes rotation of the first rotatable clamp element;

    wherein the rotation of the first rotatable clamp element causes a downward movement of the second rotatable clamp element; and

    wherein the downward movement of the second rotatable clamp element causes the first jaw to rotate relative to the second jaw into a closed position.
