1. A method of playing a wagering game on a gaming system with at least one input device, at least one display, and at least one processor, the method comprising:

  • receiving an indication of a wager via the at least one input device;

    generating, via the at least one processor, a randomly selected first outcome of a first wagering game, the first wagering game including a first plurality of symbol bearing reels, and the first outcome comprising a first plurality of symbols of the first plurality of symbol bearing reels arranged in a first matrix;

    generating, via the at least one processor, a randomly selected second outcome of a second wagering game, the second wagering game including a second plurality of symbol bearing reels, and the second outcome comprising a second plurality of symbols of the second plurality of symbol bearing reels arranged in a second matrix distinct from the first matrix;

    displaying the first and second pluralities of symbol bearing reels spinning;

    simultaneously displaying the first outcome and the second outcome on the at least one display;

    in response to an occurrence of a triggering event and while at least one of the second plurality of symbol bearing reels is displayed spinning, copying a first special symbol occurring in the first outcome into the second outcome to yield a modified second outcome; and

    evaluating the first outcome and the modified second outcome for winning combinations of symbols.
