1. A map display apparatus for displaying maps on a display section, said map display apparatus comprising:

  • a touch-sensitive panel configured to be installed on a display screen of said display section; and

    a control section configured to control changes in what is displayed on said display section in response to operations performed by a user on said touch-sensitive panel, whereinsaid control section causes said display section to display a main menu on which to designate the display of a map and a plurality of menus,if said main menu is selected through said touch-sensitive panel, then said control section causes said display section to display either a first display state in which said plurality of menus and a first menu display changing menu are displayed;

    or a second display state in which the menus of high importance from said plurality of menus, a second menu display changing menu and said map are displayed,if said first menu display changing menu is selected through said touch-sensitive panel, then said control section causes said display section to replace the first display state with the second display state,if said second menu display changing menu is selected through said touch-sensitive panel, then said control section causes said display section to replace the second display state with the first display state, and the control section causes the display section to change a position of a displayed object of the map in accordance with replacing the first display state with the second display state, wherein the map is displayed in the background on the display screen such that the plurality of menus and the first menu display changing menu of the first display state and the menus of high importance and the second menu display changing menu of the second display state are superimposed over the map, and a position and size of a perimeter of the map in the background on the display screen does not change when the position of the displayed object is changed in accordance with replacing the first display state with the second display state.
