1. A method for providing a user with an ability to access and collect drug prescriptions associated with the user in a secure and private manner, the method comprising:

  • associating access information with the user for the user to use to access a server storing files comprising drug prescriptions associated with the user in a computer readable storage medium;

    providing the user with a web-based user interface on a web-enabled computing device to remotely access the drug prescriptions stored on the server;

    receiving at the server the files comprising the drug prescriptions associated with the user from a healthcare provider associated with the user wherein the drug prescriptions include medication prescribed, a date of issuance of the prescription, a name of the patient and a prescriber'"'"'s name and contact information, the healthcare provider prescribing the drug prescriptions, and wherein the step of receiving at the server the files comprising the drug prescriptions associated with the user from the healthcare provider associated with the user is performed without providing the healthcare provider access to the server;

    providing a means for scheduling one or more prescription refills concerning a drug prescription to perform steps comprising;

    (a) receiving at the server a request directed by the user to schedule one or more prescription refills concerning the drug prescription wherein the prescription is associated with the request, and (b) scheduling the one or more prescription refills concerning the drug prescription based on the prescription and directed by the user and storing the schedule on the computer readable storage medium;

    electronically sending one or more of the drug prescriptions associated with the user to a pharmacy selected by the user;

    receiving at the server a request from the user made through the web-based user interface of the web-enabled computing device for access to the files, wherein the access information is associated with the request;

    sending the user a file containing a drug prescription associated with the user from the server to the web-enabled computing device in response to the request; and

    wherein the files are maintained separately from any maintained by the healthcare provider prescribing the drug prescriptions and wherein the files are managed privately by the user and independently from the healthcare provider prescribing the drug prescriptions.
