Systems and methods to monitor and analyze customer equipment downtime in a voice over internet protocol (VoIP) service network
First Claim
1. A method for a dynamic host configuration protocol server, the method comprising:
- assigning, using a processor, a replacement Internet protocol address to a residential gateway, the replacement Internet protocol address to replace a first Internet protocol address assigned to the residential gateway;
sending, using the processor, a first address change message to a session border controller; and
sending, using the processor, a second address change message to a lost subscriber time server that is to determine a lost subscriber time associated with a failed network transaction related to assigning the replacement Internet protocol address to the residential gateway, the first and second address change messages to indicate that the first Internet protocol address has been replaced by the replacement Internet protocol address, the lost subscriber time corresponding to a difference between a second time associated with detection of the failed network transaction by the lost subscriber time server and a first time associated with receipt of the second address change message by the lost subscriber time server.

Abstract
Systems and methods to monitor and analyze customer premises equipment downtime in a Voice over Internet Protocol service network are disclosed. Example methods for a dynamic host configuration protocol server disclosed herein include assigning a replacement Internet protocol address to a residential gateway, the replacement Internet protocol address to replace a first Internet protocol address assigned to at least one of the residential gateway or customer premises equipment associated with the residential gateway, sending a first address change message to a session border controller, and sending a second address change message to a lost subscriber time server, the first and second address change messages to indicate that the first Internet protocol address has been replaced by the replacement Internet protocol address.
