1. A method of depositing reagent solution on an electrochemical test sensor as a wet reagent droplet, the method comprising:

  • providing a base of the test sensor;

    forming an electrode pattern on the base;

    depositing the reagent solution on at least the electrode pattern as a wet reagent droplet using a reagent-dispensing system such that the wet reagent droplet directly contacts a portion of the electrode pattern, the depositing including applying mechanical force to at least a portion of the reagent solution via the reagent-dispensing system; and

    drying the wet reagent droplet to form a dry reagent layer, the reagent solution including an enzyme and a polyelectrolyte, the polyelectrolyte aiding in providing a dry reagent layer having a uniformity in which the ratio of the thinnest point to the thickest point is at least about 0.2.
