1. An apparatus for measuring club and ball kinematics, comprising:
- a camera system;
at least one trigger operatively connected to the camera system, wherein the at least one trigger comprises a pivoting connection;
a processor operable to run an operating system, wherein the processor determines a predetermined number of kinematic characteristics of a golf ball, a golf club, or a combination thereof based on images acquired by the camera system, and wherein the processor identifies the golf ball, golf club, or both based on a comparison of the acquired images and stored reference information; and
a handheld remote control for interacting with the operating system to select a display of one of the predetermined number of kinematic characteristics;
wherein the apparatus is operable to monitor both right handed and left handed golf players by angling the at least one trigger towards the right or the left.

Abstract
A launch monitor that includes substantially all of its functional components on or within a housing is disclosed. The launch monitor may be transported and used in any desired location. One or more cameras, flashes, and triggers may be used to acquire images of a golf club and golf ball. The launch monitor is preferably capable of receiving and transmitting data over a wireless network. Acquired images and other data may be analyzed by a processor, and then displayed using an LED, LCD or other type of display or printer.
