1. A wearable infusion pump system comprising:

  • a pump device including a pump housing defining a space to receive a medicine source, the pump device including a drive system to dispense medicine from the pump device when the medicine source is received in the space, the pump device including a non-rechargeable battery positioned within the pump housing, the pump device including a memory device positioned within the pump housing storing data indicative of a charge level of the non-rechargeable battery positioned within the pump housing; and

    a controller device removably attachable to the pump housing of the pump device, the controller device housing control circuitry and at least one memory device that is different from the memory device positioned within the pump housing, wherein when the controller device is removably attached to the pump housing of the pump device, the controller device activates the drive system to dispense the medicine source and receives from the memory device positioned within the pump housing the data indicative of the charge level of the non-rechargeable battery, wherein the memory device positioned within the pump housing stores the data indicative of the charge level of the non-rechargeable battery positioned within the pump housing when the pump device is detached from the controller, and wherein the controller device is configured to query the memory device positioned within the pump housing and store the data indicative of the charge level of the non-rechargeable battery in response to attaching the pump device to the controller device.
