Abstract

A digital image of the object is captured and the object is recognized from plurality of objects in a database. An information address corresponding to the object is then used to access information and initiate communication pertinent to the object.

Claims

1. An aircraft system comprising:

an aircraft comprising a sensor device configured to acquire a digital representation of a scene having at least one object;

an object identification platform configured to;

obtain the digital representation;

derive descriptors from a portion of the digital representation;

recognize the at least one object as a target object by comparing the descriptors to known descriptors associated with known objects;

determine object information associated with the target object, including an object location; and

enable a device to perform an action based on the object information including the object location.

2. The system of claim 1, wherein the aircraft comprises, at least in part, the object identification platform.

3. The system of claim 2, wherein the object identification platform is distributed between the aircraft and at least one remote server coupled with the aircraft via a network.

4. The system of claim 1, wherein the object identification platform comprises, at least in part, a remote server coupled with the aircraft over a network.

5. The system of claim 4, wherein the network comprises a wireless network.

6. The system of claim 1, wherein the target object comprises at least a two dimensional object.

7. The system of claim 6, wherein the target object comprises at least a three dimensional object.

8. The system of claim 1, wherein the target object comprises a building.

9. The system of claim 1, wherein the target object comprises a vehicle.

10. The system of claim 1, wherein the target object comprises a person.

11. The system of claim 1, wherein the digital representation comprises imagery data.

12. The system of claim 11, wherein the imagery data comprises an image.

30. The platform of claim 1, wherein the comparison of descriptors is limited to a subset of the known objects.

31. The platform of claim 1, wherein the descriptors comprise image descriptors.

32. The platform of claim 31, wherein the image descriptors comprise circular image descriptors.

33. The platform of claim 1, wherein the descriptors comprise local descriptors, which are local to the portion of the digital representation.
