1. A method for capturing dislodged vegetative growth during a surgical procedure, the method comprising:

  • maneuvering, within a circulatory system, a first cannula such that its distal end is positioned in a strategic location for subsequent capture of a vegetative growth that has become dislodged during the surgical procedure;

    positioning, within the circulatory system, a second cannula, in fluid communication with the first cannula, such that a distal end of the second cannula is in a spaced relation to the distal end of the first cannula;

    providing a pump capable of simultaneously creating a suction force and a driving force, the suction force is through the distal end of the first cannula so as to capture any vegetative growth that has become dislodged and the driving force is through the distal end of the second cannula; and

    performing the surgical procedure.
