Abstract

An insurance quotation management system for administering and managing insurance quotations through a graphical user interface. The system is configured to interface with third party data to provide insurance quotations based on input from a predictive model and data which may include social network information. The user interface permits the user to provide all inputs required to complete an application for insurance without the use of keyboard based input to provide a simplified user experience through a smart phone or other touch screen device.

Claims

1. A system for administering dynamic insurance quotations comprising:

one or more processors;

a memory device coupled to the one or more processors;

and one or more computerized programs, wherein the one or more computerized programs are stored in the memory device and configured to be executed by the one or more processors, the one or more computerized programs including instructions for;

displaying an input display of an insurance quote application interface on a user device,

detecting one or more user selectable inputs in the application interface, wherein the user selectable inputs do not require keyboard-type information entry and include a plurality of option selections, each respective option selection representative of insurance quotation specific information pertaining to the user, and in response to detecting at least a user selection representative of a request for a quote for automobile insurance, initiating at least a user device information request for user identifying information;

receiving user identifying information in response to the user device information request;

initiating a third party information request to a department of motor vehicles for vehicle identification number data for at least one car associated with the user;

receiving vehicle identification number data in response to the third party information requests to the department of motor vehicles; and

outputting an insurance quotation based on the information conveyed via the option selections without requiring keyboard-type information entry on behalf of the user, wherein the quotation is also at least based in part on the user identifying information and the vehicle identification number data received in response to the user device and third party information requests.

2. The system of claim 1, wherein the one or more computerized programs further include instructions for interfacing with a predictive model to access third party data.

3. The system of claim 1, wherein the quotation is related to an insurance renewal and is also at least based in part on historical insurance information related to the user.

4. The system of claim 1, wherein the one or more computerized programs further include instructions for using multiple third party data sources including two or more social networks.

5. The system of claim 4, wherein the social network information relates to one of the user'"'"'s driving habits, risk profile and driving history.

6. The system of claim 4, wherein the social network information includes data related to a type of automobile.

7. The system of claim 1, wherein the one or more computerized programs further include instructions for accessing municipal third party data.

8. The system of claim 1, wherein the user device data further relates to the location of the user.

9. The system of claim 8, wherein the user device data relates to a home address of the user.

10. The system of claim 1, wherein, initiating one or more user device and/or third party information requests comprises requesting information from one or more social networking websites.

11. The system of claim 1, wherein the user selectable inputs comprise one or more of radio buttons, clickboxes and checkboxes.

12. A computer system for calculating real time insurance quotations without requiring keyboard data entry, comprising:

a processor; and

a memory storage device in communication with the processor;

the processor configured to;

interrogate a user device for identifying information;

transmit the identifying information via a communications network to an insurance operated web server;

display a graphical user interface on the user device to solicit input from a user of the user device, wherein the graphical user interface requires no keyboard-type information entry from the user;

receive information via the communications network from the user'"'"'s input via the graphical user interface, the user'"'"'s input not including keyboard-type information entry and including input indicative of a request for a quote for automobile insurance; and

determine, based on the received information, whether additional information is required to provide the insurance quotation, and responsive to determining that additional information is needed, initiate and transmit a third party information request to a department of motor vehicles for vehicle identification number information for at least one car associated with the user;

receive, responsive to the third party information request, vehicle identification number information; and

determine a binding insurance quotation for the applicant based on the identifying information received from the user device, the information from the user'"'"'s input via the graphical user interface, not including keyboard-type information entry, and the received vehicle identification number information third party information.

13. The system of claim 12, wherein the processor is further configured to interface with a predictive model that includes one or more of a neural network, a Bayesian network, and an expert system.

14. The system of claim 12, wherein the processor is further configured to use social network information related to driving habits of an applicant for insurance.

15. The system of claim 14, wherein the social network information relates to one of the applicant'"'"'s driving habits, risk profile and driving history.

16. The system of claim 12, wherein the insurance quotation contains instructions for accessing an electronic insurance identification card.

17. A computer-implemented method for administering insurance quotations via a selectable input based graphical user interface, comprising:

receiving by one or more computer processors, via a communications interface, user device data including user identifying information and third party driving data comprising related to a user;

storing, by the one or more computer processors in a data storage device, the user device data including user identifying information and the third party driving data related to the user;

providing by the one or more computer processors the selectable input graphical user interface, the interface including a series of user selectable inputs, each input related to the device and/or third party driving data related to the user and not requiring user keyboard-type information entry;

receiving by the one or more computer processors, via the communications interface, user selected inputs from the selectable input graphical user interface;

storing by the one or more computer processors, in a data storage device, the received user selected inputs;

initiating a third party information request to a department of motor vehicles for vehicle identification number data for at least one car associated with the user;

receiving the vehicle identification number data in response to the third party information request to the department of motor vehicles;

determining, by the one or more computer processors, insurance quotation information for the user based on the user selected inputs, the user device data, the vehicle identification number data, and the third party driving data; and

outputting by the one or more computer processors an electronic insurance confirmation to the user.
