1. A medical device lead comprising:

  • an insulated lead body including at least one electrode;

    a helical conductor coil electrically coupled to the at least one electrode, the helical conductor coil having a circumference and including a plurality of turns having a conductive coil pitch, the helical conductor coil helically wound from one or more conductive filars each having a conductive filar diameter; and

    one or more polymer coils, each polymer coil extending over the helical conductor coil and completely around the entire circumference of the helical conductor coil, each polymer coil formed by one or more helically wound polymer filars disposed coaxially around and abutted against the circumference of the conductor coil, wherein the one or more polymer coils are configured to provide at least about 25 μ

    m of torque transmitting capacity along a length of the medical device lead.
