1. A prosthetic valve consisting of:

  • a saddle-shaped annulus, a pair of leaflets connected to the annulus, and a pair of support elements, each of the support elements connected to the leaflets, each of the leaflets separated from one another by each support element, the annulus adapted to move back and forth from a generally concave state to a generally convex state, the pair of leaflets adapted to define an opening when the annulus is in the generally concave state and to define a seal when the annulus is in the generally convex state;

    wherein when the valve is implanted in a mitral position, pressure change between diastole and systole cause a geometrical change resulting in opening and closure of the valve leaflets, respectively, with annulus deflection.
