1. A system, comprising:

  • an analyte sensor including a first section and a second section, the first section configured to be inserted under a skin surface so that at least a portion of the first section is positioned in fluid contact with interstitial fluid, and the second section is configured to be positioned above the skin surface;

    a receiver unit configured to process data obtained by the analyte sensor, to generate an analyte related signal associated with an analyte level of the interstitial fluid, and to receive sensor parameter data related to the analyte sensor, wherein the sensor parameter data is determined prior to insertion of the first section of the analyte sensor under the skin surface, and further, wherein no user calibration of the analyte sensor is performed after the first portion of the analyte sensor is inserted under the skin surface; and

    a display unit operatively coupled to the receiver unit and configured to display an output signal indicative of the analyte related signal.
